TYPES OF WRITTEN WORKS

In this page, I will give you an information about types of written works. Based on their functions and the length of the words there are several types of written works which divided into:

LETTER

• Function: to formal and informal communication
• Length: <500 words

NOTES

• Function: to record reading / lectures
• Length: <500 words

REPORT

• Function: to describe something a student has conducted, e.g: an experiment / a survey
• Length: 1000 - 2000 words

PROJECT

• Function: Research conducted either individually or in a group on subject chosen by student(s).
• Length: 1000 - 3000 words

ESSAY

• Function: Piece of writing used to assess course work / subject chosen by teacher
• Length: 1000 - 5000 words

THESIS / DISSERTATION

• Function: Long piece of writing on subject chosen by student for final assessment in master's 
• Length: 30.000 - 70.000 words

ARTICLE / PAPER

• Function: Writing published in academic journal
• Length: 5.000 - 10.000 words
